Men were given a white feather by a woman, if they were deemed fit enough, to publicly humiliate them

*Absolute Exemption - Excused of all duties
*Conditional Exemption - Not military service, replaced with other war work
*Exemption from Combat - Given a non-fighting role
*Rejection - Forced to join the army immediately
