Structure : Densely packed collagen fi bers are interwoven; fibers are irregularly clumped together and project in all directions Function: Provides tensile strength in all directions Location: Dermis; capsules of organs
reticular CT
Structure :Mesh work of reticular fibers Function: Forms stroma of lymphatic organs Location: Stroma of spleen, liver, lymph nodes, bone marrow Relatively fewer cells and fi bers than in dense connective tissue; fi bers are loosely arranged
elastic CT
Structure : Elastic and collagen fibers are arranged irregularly Function:Provides framework and supports organs Location:Walls of large arteries
