Pathology: built on principles of Black Matriarchy/ emphasizing the consequences of poverty/ provided supposed evidence for the disorganized family
Reactive-Apology: research that challenged pathology notions and suggested that the Black families under that study were similar to whites
Black Nationalists: Research that emphasized the strengths and competencies of Black families rather than the deficiencies & pathology
Proactive-Revisionist: Research that allowed the old questions regarding the black family to be re-conceptualized/ portrayed a more positive light on Black families
