A term used to explain a family, spiritual as well as physical connection to a place

By using natural resources for food, shelter, clothing, tools and weapons, medicines, art and ceremonial objects

What is the scientific way?
- Historians, archeologists and scientists STUDY objects, skeletons and artefacts to find out how long the aboriginals have lived in australia and how they lived their lives
- Using evidence they BUILD A PICTURE of what life was like (as new evidence comes the picture changes slightly)
What is the dreaming way?
- The dreaming way says that EVERYTHING was created by ancestor spirits who travelled across the land in human form.
- They created sea, sky, land, plants, animals
- As the ancestors travelled they left RECORDS including art, objects, natural features.
