Being in truth with oneself.
- One true sentece by Hemingway.
- Doing things that are highly in sync with the inner motivations and not fear or external.
Living to give
vs
Living to gain
Looking at life as a chance to give and not to gain is the bast for looking at things in the correct way.
Simple, slow and great
vs
Complex, fast and mediocre.
On being commited.
Only being commited to something can yield great result.
Being commited to something is probably the hardest thing to do. To me, it requires
- motivation
- constant reminding
- persistence in spite of distractions
- understanding lows and highs
Set of commitments are actually what makes you a character.
On sacrifice.
Being commited to something on the other side means deliberatly being commited to sacrifice somethin else.
Sacrifices are necessary, they just have to be done in a smart and deliberate way.
Achieving something means not achieving everything else, for that man needs certain form of courage.
On setting goals.
Setting clear and smart goals is the way to make constant progress through life. Otherwise, days are passing without concrete target.
Goals can be of every kind and can allow for lot of freedom, but still have to give a rhytm on life.
On structure and rhythm of life.
Life must have some rhytm and be organized around some structure.
Over time this structure should be carefully planned, enriched and preserved.
Examples are:
- 3 times per week for sports
- Family
- Friends
- Regular reflections
- Regular creative work
- Regular learning
- Regular fun
Positive attitude.
Doesn’t cost but can improve almost everything.
Negative emotions, anxiety, fear, doubt is detrimental to the people around.
Man has to be commited to being positive, like to everything that really is to be achieved and maintained.
On motivation
- find what motivates you
- then remind yourself regularly to it
- then make a plan on how to address moments when motivation is not high anymore
