Symptoms- foreign body sensation, grittiness, discomfort, mucopurulent discharge, sticking of lid margin,mild photophobia, coloured halos, slight blurring of vision
Signs- mucopus flakes present,conjunctival congestion giving FEIRY RED APPEARANCE,chemosis,cilia matted together with yellow crust

Management of acute bacterial conjunctivitis
A. Topical antibiotics (broad spectrum) B. Twice a day irrigation of conjunctival sac (avoid frequent eye washing?) C.goggles D. No bandage(?) E.no steroids(?) F.anti inflammatory and analgesic drugs
Cause of hyperacute conjunctivitis is
N. Gonorrhoea. AKA acute purulent conjunctivitis.
