Pathogenesis of Trachoma ?

A

Organism enters epithelial cells of (conjuctiva and cornea ) as INCLUSION BODIES

Epithelial involvement = Lymphocytes infiltration of the whole subepithelial fibrous layer ( adenoid layer) follicular formation

Follice rupture replaced by Scars
distortion of conjuctiva and eyelids = complication
