Malformation
organ/tissue always destined to be malformed
was never going to be normal
Disruption
primary imprint is normal, but during development something interfered
eg. infection, blocked blood supply
Deformation
similar to disruption
still functioning, once deformation is removed, organ can return to normal
Dysplasia
abnormal organisation of cells into tissues
effects may not be apparent at birth
often caused by single gene mutation

- isolated

pattern of more than one symptom of sign with pathological cause
Association
more than one symptom/condition occurring more frequently than chance alone, but, no pathological cause
