What is meant by social roles?
A
The “parts” people play as members of various social groups.
Accompanied by expectations we and others have of what is appropriate behaviour in each role.
Eg Police officers

What concept does Zimbardo use to explain your response?
A
Deindividuation: a physiological state which promotes a change in normal behavior as a result of loss of personal identity.
