What is compliance
When an individual accepts influence because they hope to achieve a favourable reaction from those around them
Conformity
A form of social influence where people adopt behaviour, attitudes and values from other members of the group
Identification
Adobos attitudes and behaviours because they want to be associated with the group
Informational social influence
Desire to be right
Internalisation
Accepts influence because the attitude or behaviour is consistent with their own value system
Normative social influence
Confirms to avoid disapproval or to gain approval
Group size
When 3+ confeds were there conformity was 30% but didn’t increase after 3 confederates
Unanimity
If you unanimity was broken conformity dropped from 33% to 5.5%
Difficulty of the task
When the task of more difficult then the levels of conformity increased
Social roles
Behaviours expected of an individual who occupies a given social position or status
