Why is it important to identify if your fiscal year by the starting month or by then ending month.

A

because a whole calendar year from April 2018-april2019 is an entire year but you have 2018 and 2019 in that range. So if you define your fiscal your by your start month then all of your closed opportunities will be in the fiscal year of 2018 but if its by the end month than all your fiscal opportunities will close in 2019.
