- MS use meetings to document functions required by law & accrediting bodies
- HCQIA provides limited immunity from legal action for physicians who enter into good faith peer review
- Courts have ordered hospitals to present peer review documents
- Minutes should be prepared with the understanding that they may later be subjected to legal scrutiny
- Never discuss credentialing or peer review activities outside the actual process
- Minutes can be stored electronically
