Stimuli
What triggers a reaction.
Unconditioned stimuli
not learned, just happens naturally.
Unconditional respons
not learned, just happens.
Neutral stimuli
doesn’t do anything. Doesn’t mean anything to the dog
Conditional stimuli
After conditioning, then learned. The same as neutral stimuli.
Operant conditioning
Learning that occurs when a response to an environmental cue is reinforced.
Difference between OC and CC
OC is voluntary and intentional.
CC happens, association, not voluntary.
Reinforcement
any action or event that increases the probability that a response will be repeated.
Positive reinforcement
when a stimulus is added in order to increase a behaviour.
Negative reinforcement
when a stimulus is taken away in order to increase a behaviour.
Punishments
Any action or behaviour that decreases the probability that a behaviour will occur.
Positive punishment
a stimulus is added in order to decrease a behaviour.
Negative punishment
A stimulus is taken away in order to decrease behaviour.
