It deals with habits and general truths such as laws.
Zero conditional
structure of zero conditional
if/when + simple present… simple present
It is used in dealing with things that are possibly or likely to happen in
the future.
First conditional
structure of first conditional
if/when + simple present… will + base form
It is used in dealing with things that are impossible in present and are unlikely to happen.
Second conditional
structure of second conditional
if/when + simple past… would + base form
It is used in dealing with things or changes in scenario yielding to different results.
Third conditional
structure of third conditional
if/when + past perfect… would have + past participle

It contains only one independent
clause, with a subject and predicate.
