Conditional Probability Flashcards

Q

when conditional probability is used?

A

Suppose A and B are two events associated with some random experiment. A random experiment is performed. The experimenter reveals that the event B has occurred. We want to speculate whether or not A has occurred.
P(A|B)= probability of A given that B has already occurred

P(A|B)=p(A∩B)/p(B)
