Condensate Storage and transfer Flashcards
What is the purpose of the CST?
- Makeup for condenser
- Makeup for polishing Demins
- Makeup for EC, EW, DG JW, and the SFP
- Water for Aux Feed
How much inventory is in the CST?
550,000 gallons
How much inventory is for Aux Feed?
330,000 gallons
What are the makeup sources to the CST?
Normal- DW
Backup- LRS RMT (abnormal/bad day)
At what level is our CST tech spec? Why?
29.5 feet or 330,000 gallons
It is used for holding the unit in mode 3 for 8 hours for entry into SDC at a 75 degree per hour cooldown rate.
How are the suction valves for AFN normally maintained?
Closed (seismic concerns)
How is pressure controlled in the CST?
By two breather relief valves (PSV-8 and PSV-23)
- protects from over-pressure or vacuum
- pass sufficient flow in the event of N2 supply fails open
- pass sufficient intake air during hotwell makeup
What does the loop seal do?
protects in case of N2 loss or failure of breather valves
Where do the CST transfer pumps receive power?
PHA/ PHB
What is the N2 over-pressure on the CST?
3.5 H2O gauge or .13 psig to minimize waters O2 concentration
How is the N2 regulated in the CST?
PV-34
What are the alarms associated with the CST?
Hi level- 44’ 7”
Lo level- 35’ 7”
Max level- 47’ 11”
Leak Detect- 2” level in pump room
Explain the CD transfer pumps?
- PH
- 130 gpm
- Start automatically on LOP, SIAS, CREFAS, CRVIAS
What level does the pressure control valve from DW maintain level at? What is the valve?
- LV-6
- Maintains level 40.3’ to 42.3’
Talk about freeze protection on the CST?
On when temp is less then 40 degrees F. Trouble alarm if; - Temp less then 35 degrees F - Loss of power - Loss of continuity
