What is a concussion, generally?
A traumatic brain injury induced by biomechanical forces
What are some common features usedin clinically defining the nature of a concussion?
- May be caused by a blow to the head or anywhere that causes an impulsive force to travel to the head
- Results in rapid onset short term neurological impairment.
- Potentially neuropathological changes
- Potentially loss of consciousness

25% make rapid linear progress
35% have delay for symptoms to settle, then rapid progress
