problematize particularly most obese caused by fast food industry large portions low price without exercise notable food deserts lack of grocery stores
The main point of the essay is to problematize the growing obesity in the US and particularly in Mississippi considered, as shown in the results, as the most obese state of the country. Obesity is largely caused by the booming fast food industry selling large portions of junk food for a low price and the Americans having more and more work and free time activities without physical exercise. In the state of Mississippi, these factors are notably common compared to the rest of the country. In addition to this Mississippi suffers from food deserts, meaning the lack of grocery stores in many areas.
discussion government state schools employees employers combat
The essay ends with a discussion aimed to answer the thesis question; “What can be done about the growing obesity in the US and specifically in Mississippi?”. Here a number of possible solutions are presented on different levels of society; what the government, the state, the schools and the employees should do to combat obesity.
reason unfair necessary considerable human right eat ...
The reason I consider obesity to be an important topic to research and discuss is that it is unfair not to give everyone the necessary conditions for living a healthy life. Whether a person is healthy or not has such a considerable impact on that person’s life that I consider it a human right to be given the possibilities to eat healthfully.

general
compare
I was able to find convenient information to answer my thesis. It was harder to find information about the obesity in Mississippi compared to the rest of the US. The information found about obesity in the US was more general and it was therefore interesting to compare them.
controversial ethnic demographic poor and obese 37% further inferior conditions
One controversial aspect when studying obesity in Mississippi was the ethnic demographic. Mississippi is the poorest and most obese state in the US, but it is also home to the largest percentage of black Americans around 37%. An angle that could be further discussed when talking about obesity would be the inferior conditions of afro Americans in the US.

To evolve this research more information on the consequences of obesity could be done. This can be done for people who don’t understand why obesity is a big problem in the US and for the people suffering from it.

If some of the solutions proposed in the discussion are tried out, additional research could be done analyzing its effects and the amendment who could be made to gain even better results.
