Partial agonist of serotonin
What med do we not give to patients with dementia and why?
Benadryl because its anticholinergic effects make the cognitive symptoms worse
What substance when abused caused memory loss or what they call black outs?
Alcohol
What do we use for acute pain relief for patients who have opioid dependence and are in withdrawal?
NSAIDS, ketorolac and dicofenac
Good definition of cyclothymic disorder?
At least 2 years of depressive symptoms and manic symptoms but neither one qualify for major depression or full mania
What is a risk for using anticholinergics like benzotropine for parkinson symptoms of antipsychotics?
Toxicity causing delirium
