Advantages and Disadvantages of a Keyboard?

A

Adv:
- fast entry of new text into a document
- people are well practiced with them
- easy verification checks as data appears on the screen immediately.​
Disadv:
- User with restricted arm/wrist find difficult.
- Entering data is slow compared to direct data entry (Optical Character Recognition)​.
- Take up desk space

Advantages and Disadvantages of a Numeric keypads? Also give some uses?

A

Uses:
- Automatic Teller Machines (ATM’s) to put in their personal identification number (PIN)
- On Phones so that numbers can be entered.
- Electronic Point of Sales (EPOS) terminals in case barcode reader fails to read.
Adv:
- faster than standard keyboards to enter numeric data​
- very easy to carry around e.g phones and pin readers
Disadv:
- Small keys can make it difficult to use
- Hard to use when entering text

Advantages and Disadvantages of a mouse?

A

Adv:
- faster to select an option using a mouse than with a keyboard
- rapid navigation through applications and the internet
- take up little space
Disadv:
- people with restricted hand/wrist movement can find it hard to use
- easily damaged and older ones can get clogged up with dirt
- difficult to use if there is no flat surface ​
