What does Comprehensive Planning do?
It helps communities plan proactively rather than reactively. Communities can identify opportunities to foster positive and transformative change
Are states required to have a comprehensive plan?
There is no consensus about what constitutes a comprehensive/general plan.
Many state enabling laws are still rooted in the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Standard Zoning Enabling Act (first edition 1924; revised in 1926) and Standard City Planning Enabling Act (1928).
What is tribal planning?
Engages tribal government leaders, residents, and businesses in preparing plans and administering planning processes in support of the tribal community
