Antonio Vivaldi
He led the development of the Baroque era, which ended shortly after his death. He dedicated his work “to the glory of god”, while influenced by international styles including German, French and Italian. Instead of inventing new forms, Perfected existing ones, and composed in every genre of his day except opera.
Johann Sebastian Bach
Among almost all the musicians, he is one of the very few that is not poor. He is influenced by international currents of the day including German, Italian, French and English. His music showcases his cosmopolitan style, while he likes to alternate between homophonic and polyphonic texture frequently. He is most well-known for his effective use of word painting, and extended sequential writing. Basic elements are also commonly used in his composition.
George Frederic Handel
As an important composer of the Classical era, his music embraced the 18th century trends, including style galant (elegant style), sturm und drang (storm and stress), and empfindsamer stil (sensitive style). He is often regarded as the father of the symphony and string quartet due to his important contributions to these genres. He also contributed to the development of sonata form, in which his expositions are often monothematic. Meanwhile, He is influenced by folk songs and dance. His music often includes dramatic elements and interesting sound effects, while sometimes employs sudden dynamic changes or abrupt silences.
Franz Joseph Haydn
As one of the most famous composers, he exemplified the main ideas of Classicism: elegance, balance, poise, refinement, sophistication through music. Despite his surprisingly short life, he explored, advanced and developed all Classical genres. He contributed to the development of sonata form, to the concerto structure with double exposition, and to three types of operas: opera seria (Idomeneo), opera buffa (The Marriage of Figaro) and Singspiel (the Magic Flute). While deeply influenced by J.C.Bach in piano concertos, he is also influenced by Mannheim Orchestra in symphonic styles.
