What is the definition of reaction time?
The time taken for an individual to respond to a stimulus
What is the definition of agility?
The ability to change direction at speed
What is the definition of cardiovascular endurance?
The ability of the heart and lungs to provide oxygen to the working muscles for a long period of time
What is the definition of muscular endurance?
The ability of muscles to undergo repeated contractions
What is the definition of co-ordination?
The ability to use two or more body parts smoothly and efficiently
What is the definition of flexibility?
The range of movement possible at a joint
What is the definition of speed?
The maximum rate at which an individual can perform a movement or cover a distance in a period of time
What are the 2 types and definitions of balance?
Static- balancing whilst still
Dynamic- maintaining balance whilst moving
What is the equation for power (explosive strength) and what is it also known as?
Power = strength x speed
Also known as anaerobic power
What is the definition and 4 types of strength?
The ability to overcome a resistance
Maximal - greatest force possible in a single muscle contraction
Static - amount of force exerted on a object that cannot move
Explosive - amount of force exerted in one quick muscle contraction
Dynamic - amount of force that can be exerted repeatedly by a muscle
