Warm Up
A
Stage 1: gradual warm up
Stage 2: more specific movements
Purpose:
- prepares athlete both mentally and physically
- it increases arousal
- warms muscles and the body (increases blood flow)

Conditioning Phase
A
- Follows Warm up
- main part of training session
Purpose:
Specifically develops fitness components that need improving based on activity analysis and fitness testing whilst maintaining requirements of the sport.

Cool Down
A
- vital for optimal recovery
- similar movements but lower intensity
- flexibility training performed here
Purpose:
- Return body back to pre exercise levels
- helps to remove metabolic by products
- replenish lost fluids
- helps reduce DOMS
