How should you take working impressions?
- Seat the tray fully and manipulate the lips and cheeks (tongue protruded with lower)
- Use a closed mouth technique
How should you assess the working impression?
- Ensure impression covers whole of denture bearing area
- Sulci - rounded free from defects
- Correctly shaped and extended
- Width - related to the width of the patients sulcus during function
How should you take your master impression?
Upper: stand behind Lower: stand in front
1. Rotate the tray into patients mouth
2. Seat the tray home consider viscosity of material
3. Muscle manipulation
4. Closed mouth technique
5. Remove the impression
