- to present a model or theory visually so that you can show how 2 or more variables interrelate
- present real world data visually in order to show how 2 or more variables relate
When are graphs most useful?
When one wants to show sequential increase or decrease in a variable or to show specific correlations between 2 or more variables in a given circumstance.
Why is the bar graph the most common graph?
easy way of visually showing the difference in a given set of variables
What is the disadvantage of using bar graphs?
It is limited in showing the actual proportional increase or decrease of given variable in terms of other given variable

Linear: uses straight lines
Non-linear: uses curved lines
