Each state has its own Constitution, an elected legislative body (Assembly), Judicial system, and a govenor. Funding is from state income tax and sales tax.

- Political history of the country has tended to discourage more than 2 parties
- Political philosophy of democratic and republican parties are generally wide enough to empass most peoples thinking in the US
- Because these 2 parties include most people’s thinking, they get most people’s monetary donations (other parties don’t have money to advertise and publicize)
- In International relations, the democratic and republican parties are familiar to other world leaders

What is the difference between authoritarian government and representative government?
Authoritarian government is one political party. The government is responsible for the upkeep of industries that are used to provde income for the country.
Representative government is the people are reponsible for the government they elect and the laws that are passsed. The representative government is more aware of public opinion than authoritarian government.
When did Representative Government begin?
Began with direct democracy in Greece then progressed to republic in Rome. Progressed to other democracies and republics, most famously USA
