A
- appropriate disclosure (nature of tx, risks, benefits, alternatives)
- competence of patient (not always with mentally disabled, elderly, children)–expression of preference (yes or no), understanding, appreciation, reasonable process, reasonable outcome
- voluntariness of consent (legal issue)
