Formatting Mark
A nonprinting character that appears on the screen to indicate the ends of paragraphs, tabs, and other formatting elements
Wordwrap
Allows you to type words in a paragraph continually without pressing ENTER at the end of each line
Headline
The first line of text on the flyer. It can contain a message, name the product or service being offered, or identify the benefit that will be gained
Body copy
Consists of text between the headline and the signature line it highlights the key points of the message in few words as possible
Signature line
The last line of text on the flyer, may contain contact information, reference additional information, or identify a call to action.
Paragraph formatting
The process of changing the appearance of a paragraph on-screen and in print
Character formatting
The process of changing the way characters appear on the screen and in print
Point
A unit of measure for font size, is about 1/72 of one inch in height
Theme
A coordinated combination of formats for fonts, colors, pictures, and other objects
Shade
The process of applying a background color or pattern to a page, text, table, or other object.
Numbered lists
A series of paragraphs, each beginning with a sequential number that may or may not be followed by a separator character, such as period or parenthesis.
Bulleted lists
A series of paragraphs, each beginning with a bullet character, such as dot or check mark.
A(n)blue wavy underline
indicates the text may have a contextual spelling error.
ignore all
To instruct Word not to flag future occurrences of a spelling error, right-click the flagged word and click _____ on the shortcut menu.
The font or typeface
defines the appearance and shape of the letters, numbers, and special characters.
