Scour test (quadrant)

A
  • pt close to EOB with hip flexed and foot resting in table
  • PT places one hand over top of pts knee
  • pts hip is placed in 90 degrees flexion with knee comfortably flexed
  • from here PT adducts hip until pelvis begins to lift
  • then moves hip into flexion and abduction- outer quadrant

Patricks test (FABER, figure 4)

A
  • Pt supine with involved hip simultaneously flexed, abducted, and ER so lateral ankle rests on uninvolved Leg just proximal to knee
  • stabilize ASIS of uninvolved side while pushing down on knee of involved side until end range achieved
  • apply 3-5 small amp oscillations at end range into resistance

  • pt in supine and PT puts hip into flexion, ER and full abduction
  • then hip is extended, IR, and adduction
