I always see cops hanging around X (Starbucks etc.)

  • I strict then to get a cup of coffee and have a team meeting to discuss hot spots, projects, new policy, and etc. Perception is everything. Sometimes we do joke around to team cohesiveness
  • come talk to us and ask what we are doing and maybe join the conversation of what we are talking about.

They are always there for 3 hours.

  • to me that’s unexceptable. If it’s my team, will talk to them, keep team meeting brief, and 10-8 asap. If another team, talk to the sgt or the team and keep briefing short and 10-8 asap.

I call 911 but no one every shows up or it takes forever for them to arrive

  • I underand and I apologize for not responding quickly.
  • less staffing. and mass recruiting. Hiring CSO.
  • Payrol officers does not have any control which calls to respond to. Dispatch priorities calls: 1-6.
  • 3 ways: TRAK report, go to the police department to make a report, on line reporting, face to face.
  • if an emergency, life threatening or in progress crime, we will response asap.

My team knows to response to a call for service asap.

There is a pedophile / 290 on my street what can I do.

  • provide us his location and info.
  • we have no control where they live.
  • will contact with 290 team and check if the subject is in compliance with 290 reg. And enforce any violation and my team can also check if his ref is updated.
  • parents who are concerned regarding a potential sex offender should consider viewing the “how to protect and your family” and the “facts about sex offenders” section of California megan’s law website.
  • if does anything suspicious, trying to make contact with your kids, give us a call so we can make contact with him , talk to him, and check for 290 compliance.

I always see officers talking on their cell phones while driving and I got a ticket for that. I saw he was laughing so I don’t think it was work related.

  • officers are also subject to the cell phone usage as the citizen except for official emergency purposes only.
  • if you come across with an officer using his cell hone while driving, obtain vehicle number or license plate, date, time.
  • we can track and correct problem if he is not in compliance.
