It is a framework used to break bad news.

S - Setting up the interview
P - Patients Perception
I - Invitation to continue with explanation
K - give Knowledge in small chunks
E - address Emotions with Empathy
S - Strategy what you and the patient will do

Ask them if they would like to take a break and have a cup of tea before discussing things further as “it’s a shock hearing that something is seriously wrong”
