A deviation (FAR 1.401) means any one or combination of the following:

Used for soliciting offers and awarding contracts expected to exceed the simplified acquisition threshold. These acquisitions may be for:
- construction, alteration, or repair; or
- dismantling, demolition, or removal of improvements
