Social Penetration Levels and Meanings

A

Superficial ( everyone can see and it is not that deep, it is the layer that everyone sees and knows)
Intimate ( it is what you show when you are friends with someone. It is not too deep but not really deep. It is something you share with a person who is nothing more than a friend.)
Personal ( something you share with your best friend or family. It is pretty deep but not the deepest)
Core ( your deepest darkest secrets that you don’t share with anyone.)
When you are communicating with someone, you are trying to penetrate them and get under more layers.
