and material objects and possessions acquired by
a group of people in the course of generations
through individual and group striving.

Refers to the shared set of beliefs, values,
customs, practices, traditions, behaviors, symbols,
and artifacts that characterize a group or
society.

Refers to the physical objects, artifacts, and
tangible aspects of a culture that hold
significance and meaning within that culture.

Refer to the convictions, ideas, and cognitive
understandings that people within a culture hold
to be true.
Beliefs
Refer to the predispositions, opinions, and
evaluations that individuals within a culture hold
toward various objects, ideas, people, or groups.
Attitude
ideas about behavior expected of members
of a group. In some cultures, called tight,

are
ideas about the correct behavior of people who
hold a position in a social group. For example,
foreman, father, aunt, or sister are roles.
Roles
Refer to the activities, responsibilities,
and goals that individuals and groups within a
culture engage in as part of their daily lives.
Tasks
Are the core beliefs and principles that are
deeply held by individuals and groups within a
culture.
Values
