A
A disease that can be spread amongst organisms

How can the spread of communicable diseases be prevented?
A
- covering mouth/nose
- not touching infected people or objects
- using protection during sex
- not sharing needles as diseases such as HIV can be passed through blood
- wash hands
- cook food properly
- drink clean water
- protect yourself from insect bites

How is the spread of disease amongst plants and animals controlled?
A
- diseased plant material is burned
- animals may be treated or slaughtered
- livestock cannot be moved
- chemical dips are installed to kill pathogens on footwear

They can release toxic waste products which may create more symptoms
