A

A

Contact with body fluid or droplets through no intact skin, needle stick, or mucus membranes

A

If needle stick or puncture, clean with antimicrobial x 5min

If mucus membrane, flush for 5 min

If on intact skin, clean throughly

A

  1. Report to Supervisor
  2. Complete ERE
  3. WC forms are completed if employee seeks treatment or prophylaxis

What is the required actions for an exposure?

A
  1. Wound care
  2. Report to Supervisor
  3. Complete ERE
  4. WC form forwarded to admin if employee admitted for treatment or prophylaxis
  5. Call EMS 22
  6. EMS 22 will ensure ERE goes with source Pt for blood draw
  7. The injured FF will be immediately relieved of duty and go to med clinic if it’s open
  8. If med clinic closed FF will go with Pt to the hospital
  9. FF not to have blood drawn at the hospital
