What is the role of storytelling?
A unique way to develop an understanding, respect and appreciation.
What is visual language?
Has a set of codes and conventions that influence the way we interpret different images.
What is verbal language?
Both spoken and written communication
What is figurative language?
Goes beyond the literal meaning of words to get a message or point across.
What is metalanguage?
Terms used to describe the language used. (language techniques) E.g. metaphors, similes
What are stylistic features?
How words, sentences and images are arranged and how they affect the meaning. E.g. juxtaposition
What are grammatical features?
Grammar, punctuation
Person: first, second, third
Tense: past and present
Define of represent:
To speak, act, or be present officially for another person.
Define human qualities:
The features or characteristics of an individual. We gain these from human experience.
Define human emotion:
Strong feelings deriving from an individual’s circumstances or mood.
What is context?
Forms the setting of an event.
What is a repertoire?
All music and plays that you can perform, which you know of.
What is an anomaly?
A person or thing that is different from what is usual.
What is syntax?
The grammatical arrangement of words in a sentence (truncated?, lots of grammar used?)
What is a paradox?
A situation that is difficult to understand due to having two opposite characteristics/ facts.
