Lower UTI (uncomplicated)

A

Caused by: E.coli form GI in bladder/ urethra
Risk: Female, Sexual activity, pregnancy
Symptoms: Dysuria, Abdominal discomfort, Pelvic pain, Cloudy/bloody/smelly urine
Treatment: (women, not pregnart) nitrofurantoin 100mg(MR) BD 3 days (7 days in Men/Pregnart), Trimethoprim 200mg = (risk of resistance)

Pneumonia

A

Cause: Commonly Strep. pneumoniae
Symptoms: Cough, BD, fever, chest pain
Treatment: CA, amoxicillin, HA, IV antibiotics e.g.
