Common Feedwater Flashcards
What is the required condensate volume to meet the 24 hour mission time for condensate injection into EFW?
Unit 1: 190,000 gallons
Unit 2: 207,779 gallons
Combined volume of unit 1 and unit 2 CSTs must be > 255,000 gallons
What is the minimum recirc flow and minimum continuous flow for CFW pump? How long can pump operate at 80 gpm in calendar year?
Minimum Flow - 80 gpm (can only operate at this flow for 100 hours/yr)
Minimum Continuous Flow - 270 gpm
What interlocks are present associated with CFW and EFW pumps?
If EFW pump (P-7B), CFW pump can not be started unless load shed feature is manually bypassed at HMI
If CFW pump is operating and P-7B has start signal, CFW pump will automatically trip to prevent A-1 overload.
What are the power supplies for CFW pumps?
P-805A: A-15 normally fed from london line
P-805B: A-19 normally fed from A-1
What are the power sources for the CFW isolation valves and how are they normally configured?
PP-51 and PP-91. Normally de-energized and locked in the closed position.
Explain automatic operation of the CFW MOVs?
To place the MOVs in auto, they must be in the user defined level band. Once in auto it will check SG level vs set point every 120 seconds. If out of band it will stroke either open or closed for 0.5 sec. Valve operation is limited to less than 120 times per hour for thermal overload protection.
What will automatically trip CFW pump?
Soft starter supply bkr protective relay trip (O/C, LO, etc)
Loss of power to bus A-15, A-19
EFW pump running with CFW pump on A-1 will load shed the CFW pump.
What is the normal and alternate suction source for CFW pumps?
Normal: Unit 1 CST
Alternate: U2 CSTs
What are the functionality requirements per TRM 3.7.13 for CFW pumps?
- Must have AC and DC power source
- Suction source from CSTs with required volume
- Minimum flow recirc path
- Discharge path to at least one SG
