- To shed old, worn skin
- To help get rid of parasites
- To allow for growth
How often p/year, normally, do snakes and lizards undergo ecdysis?
1-4 times a year, dependent on the species or age of the animal
Note: younger animals will shed more, as they are undergoing so much growth
