What should be written about in a review?
A
- Central themes and important messages (eg. common themes and messages)
- Recognisable patterns (eg. structure, patterns of rhyme, meter, order etc.)
- Figures of speech (eg. metaphors, similes, personification, irony etc.)
- Historical context (eg. written near a world war.)

- Introduction
- Para 1: Structure, form and narration
- Para 2: Meaning message
- Para 3: Techniques and tone
- Para 4: Effect of the techniques
- Conclusion

What can be included in structure option 2 of a commentary?
A
- In each paragraph talk about one stanza per paragraph
- In each paragraph for each stanza use PET
- Point: State the point of the stanza
- Evidence: Give evidence, show the quotes as well
- Technique: State the poetic techniques and explain their effect

A
- Use a heading and subheadings
- Talk about the things used in a review or commentary

- Whats being said: Message, theme, character, ideas, relationships etc.
- How is it being said: techniques, rhyme, rhythm, structure etc.
- So what?: Explain the effect of the techniques
