Salutations = begnning in email ect and then comma
valedictions = comma after ending a email/letter

- The beginning of the sentences
starts with a dependent clause use comma and then independent
like transitional words, finally, ect
modifying the sentence verb
independent and dependent phrases
independent = a complete thought can stand on its own
dependent= not a complete thought, can’t stand on its own
Both have subject and predicate
Commas p2 tag questions
where you ask a positive question and then using a negative question tag
(you like cheese, don’t you ?)

when directly addressing a certain person, you can say their name and then add a comma
commas p2 yes and no
when answering question or such you can add a comma after the yes or no
commas in dialogue
two ways to use
1. person said , (dialogue) ect
2. (dialogue) end dialogue with , and then said person
appositives
a noun phrase that adds more detail into a noun
(noun, appos, ect)
sentence should still make sense before and after the appositive
Apostrophe uses
- contraction ( combining two words together )
- possession ( sam’s cat)
contractions
adding two words together
you will = you’ll
aspostrophe and plurals
3 uses
1. only when classifing a undercase letter (i’s) no cap letters tho just (CDs)
2. to own something
3. pssessive ending in -s you can still add s
