Planning Section
Responsible for the collection, evaluation, dissemination and use of information about the development of the incident as well as the status of resources.
The levels of scene organization are as follows

The branch level is the organizational level having functional or geographical responsibility
Divisions
Divisions are the organizational levels having total responsibility for operations within a defined geographic area
Groups
Groups are established to divide the incident into functional areas of operations

The next higher level of supervision currently in place. This may be the Branch Director, Operations Chief or the IC.
