Six seconds
What is the order of combat?
- Is anyone surprised?
- Roll for initiative
- Take turns
How do you roll initiative?
You roll the d20, then add your initiative bonus. (Your dexterity modifier)
What does the DM do once initiative is rolled?
The DM rolls initiative for the opposing force, then ranks the party members in order from the number they rolled
How does a character move?
They move the amount of distance for their speed on their character sheet.
If you’re playing with a board, how much distance is one square?
Five ft
When you attack, how do you determine if the attack will hit?
You roll a d20, then add your attack bonus. (Your strength modifier and your proficiency bonus)
When you hit an enemy, how do you know how much damage you will do?
You roll the d12 then add your strength bonus.
When you’re rolling a d20 to see if it will hit, what happened if you roll a natural 1 or 20?
You will automatically fail or hit, no matter the opponents armour class. (If you roll natural 20, you roll your damage die twice)
