Shade (noun)
a color made by adding black to a hue
Tone
a color made by adding grey to a hue
Value
the degree of light or darkness
Achromatic
black, white and grays; artwork executed without color

the complete absence of light
Chroma
the intensity, strength or purity of a color
Shade (verb)
using a mixture of black mixed with a color to make it darker. The opposite of tint
Tint
combing white with a color to make it lighter; the opposite of shade
Spectrum
the colors that are the result of a beam of white light that is broken by a form of prism into its hues
Art Movement
an art style that is intentionally launched by a small group of artists who want to promote or provoke change
Art Period
not driven by conscious choice of the artists; are grouped together because they lived at the same time , painted the same subjects, and were influenced by the same culture
