close to the coast, and most in towns

most people lived on farms and there were very few towns since people were so spread out.

an agreement the Pilgrims made that all men would vote to make laws for the good of hte community- it resulted in town meetings

the southern colonies- they were royal colonies and the king was able to appoint the governor and some of the legislators
