Middle Colonies
Four colonies of colonial America that consisted of New Netherlands( later New York), Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New Sweden(Later Delaware).
Cash Crops
Crops that are grown for financial profit.
Gristmill
A mill that grounds wheat, grain or other substances down to a powdered form. e.g. Wheat, meal.
Craftsmanship
The quality of design and work shown in something made by hand. Artistry
Climate
The weather conditions prevailing in an area in general or over a long period of time.
Quaker
A member of the Religious Society of Friends, a Christian movement founded by George Fox, 1650 and dedicated to peaceful principles.
Immigrant(s)
A person or group of people moving away from their home country into a new one. e.g. Moving from Mexico into the U.S. .
Slavery
The act of forcing someone else to do work for you. Like the African slaves of pre-colonial and colonial times.
Plantation
An estate on which crops such as coffee, sugar, and tobacco are cultivated by resident labor.
Manufactured Goods
Food stuffs, clothes, etc that are not naturally formed and a made by people to sell.
