Cause of Colle’s fracture

What is the incidence of these fractures related to in older women, and what can be considered as management?
Osteoporosis, consider a bone graft
What kind of deformity is seen and why?
Dinner fork deformity due to posterior displacement of distal portion and dorsal tilt.
Treatment for undisplaced Colle’s fractures
Dorsal splint for 4 weeks then active movements
Treatment for displaced Colle’s fractures
Reduced under anaesthesia using haematoma block (aspirates haematoma formed by fracture and then uses LA)
Manipulation and dorsal plaster slab
Treatment for comminuted and unstable Colle’s fractures
K-wire fixation after reduction and plaster (5 weeks)
Complications of Colle’s fracture
Compartment syndrome
Median nerve compression
Malunion
Rupture of extensor pollicis longus tendon
Wrist stiffness
Sudeck’s atrophy
