Relieved by shaking hand or hanging it out of bed

What tests can be used to identify carpal tunnel?
A
Tinel’s - symptoms brought on by percussion of median nerve
Phalen’s - symptoms brought on by holding wrist in full flexion for 1-2mins

What is the main differential for carpal tunnel and how can it be excluded?
A
Cervical spondylosis (OA of C spine) - do neck exam and nerve conduction test
